Abstract Submission
The theme for APCChE 27 is
“Collaborating to Deliver Secure, Sustainable and Equitable Futures”
APCChE 2027 invites researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers to submit abstracts addressing the critical challenges and opportunities shaping the future of chemical engineering. Contributions are welcome across the following thematic tracks, with strong encouragement for work that demonstrates collaboration, impact, and alignment with global priorities including resource and fuel security, critical minerals, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and ESG-driven innovation.
Conference Tracks
1. Process Systems Engineering, Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Resource Security
Covers process design, modelling, optimisation and systems integration for sustainable manufacturing, circular economy, waste minimisation and resource efficiency, including life cycle and techno-economic analysis, critical minerals processing, inorganic and organic recycling, landfill diversion, thermal treatment of non-recyclable residual waste, resource recovery, and resilient supply chains.
2. Energy Engineering, Fuel Security and Decarbonisation Systems
Focuses on technologies and integrated systems enabling the energy transition, including hydrogen, electrification, renewable fuels, and low- or negative-emissions processes, alongside fuel security, energy system resilience, and diversification of energy supply.
3. Materials, Particle Technology, Separations and Process Intensification
Encompasses advanced materials, particle and powder systems, separation processes, and intensified unit operations for efficient and sustainable chemical production, including materials for energy storage, clean fuels, and critical minerals value chains.
4. Digitalisation, Data Science and Smart Process Systems
Addresses data-driven methods, AI/ML, process control, digital twins, and smart manufacturing systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and cyber-secure and resilient industrial operations.
5. Food Engineering, Bioprocessing and the Bioeconomy
Includes food processing, alternative proteins, biomanufacturing, biorefineries, and biomass valorisation for sustainable production of food, fuels and bio-based products, supporting sustainable development and regional food security.
6. Water, Environmental Engineering and Planetary Health
Covers water treatment, desalination, resource recovery, emissions control, and environmental remediation, with emphasis on integrated water–energy–food systems, climate resilience, and planetary health outcomes.
7. Process Safety, Risk, Secure Systems, Education and Professional Practice
Focuses on process safety, hazard and risk management, and resilience of engineering systems, alongside system security, ESG frameworks, SDG-aligned engineering, workforce development, and inclusive professional practice.
