Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that the Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Congress finally returns to Australia after twelve years. The Congress is the pre-eminent chemical engineering event in the Asia-Pacific region and will be held in conjunction with Chemeca 2027, the Australian and New Zealand annual conference. This singular event will bring academic and industry delegates from across the Asia Pacific and beyond for 4 ½ days of plenaries, keynotes, lectures, workshops and poster sessions.

The next decade will see the Asia-Pacific region being the world’s most populous region and experiencing continued rapid urbanisation. It will also be the global leader in the rapid adoption and deployment of renewable energy, as well as in planned investment for process and manufacturing industries.

This is an exciting time for our profession, with a strong prospect of making a lasting contribution to the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. I earnestly invite you to partake in this exciting Congress through either sponsorship or participation in the exhibition. Welcome to the The Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Congress 2027 (APCChE)

Established in 1975 through the efforts of Professor T. Mizushina of Kyoto University, the Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE) brings together chemical engineering organisations across the Asia-Pacific region. With member societies representing 15 countries and regions — including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, and more — APCChE serves as a collaborative platform dedicated to advancing chemical engineering for the benefit of society.

As the third regional confederation formed after those in the Americas and Europe, APCChE plays a vital role in fostering international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and professional exchange in a previously underserved part of the world. Corresponding members such as AIChE (USA), CSChE (Canada), DECHEMA (Germany), and IChemE (UK) further extend our global connections.

Our mission is to promote human welfare through the progress of chemical engineering. We strive to enhance education, organise international congresses, and encourage collaboration between professionals and institutions. APCChE is also a proud member of the World Chemical Engineering Council (WCEC), alongside European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) and InterAmerican Confederation of Chemical Engineering (IACCE), supporting broader global efforts to connect and elevate the discipline worldwide.

APCChE Congress 2027 will bring together the brightest minds, global innovators, and influential decision-makers from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond, creating a powerful platform for collaboration, discovery, and industry advancement.

The APCChE Congress 2027 will take place from 29 November to 2 December 2027 at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), bringing together chemical engineering professionals, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

The Congress provides a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration, featuring keynote presentations, technical sessions, panel discussions, and interactive workshops covering the latest advancements and challenges in chemical engineering. Delegates will also have opportunities to engage with innovative technologies, research initiatives, and global industry trends, while connecting with peers and leaders shaping the future of the profession.
